For those of you that don’t know, I live in Branson Missouri. It is a very tourist-centric town. The year round population is around 10,500. While the seasonal visitor count is well over 8 million. It is a family friendly environment with lots to do, and just about a days drive from most points in the Mid- West. From Theme parks, to museums and shows. there is something to do for everyone. Now at some point while visiting, you are going to get hungry. This is a list of my Top 5 Places to eat in Branson. No real ranking system here, just the way they pop into my head. I have eaten at them all and can tell you each is worth your consideration.
If you are a italian food fan, this is the place to go. Fresh handmade sauces and pasta, and a great atmosphere. The house dinner salad that comes with each meal is one of the many highlights. I have tried on more than one occasion to get the recipe for the dressing, but they will not give it up. Dishes I would highly recommend are the Veal Picatta, Shimp Alfredo, and the Lasagna.
If you are wanting a unique dining experience this is the place to try. This is a great “Mom and Dad get a night out” place.
From Steak to seafood, they do it all well. The theme for the Restaurant is what I would call Safari. Excellent service all around I have never had a bad experience at this place. I would highly recommend the Prime Rib. And also they have some Combination Dinner for two items on the menu that not only offer value, but no compromise of quality food. A great wine list as well.
I love BBQ. Good BBQ. Doc’s does it right. Slow smoked meats over a hickory fire. All done right there on site. Combine the great food with the excellent service and you have a winner every time. Very nice rustic atmosphere on the inside. A very nice well to dip from for your adult beverage choices. My recommendations here would be the Ribs, and the pulled pork in any form that they serve it. Both are delicious. And don’t pass up the fried corn as a side, the stuff is addicting.
A great place for lunch or a light dinner. Authentic Gyros and other Greek delights. I always start with some Pita Chips and hummus. Both are made fresh and are absolutely delicious. The lamb and beef Gyro is one of the best I have ever had. Small space and nestled in the old downtown Branson, it’s a great place to sit back and relax for a break in your busy day.
5 . Burger Shack
Sometimes you just gotta have a burger. When that urge hits, this is the place to go. Fresh made burgers in several varieties and hand cut fries to go with it. Simple and delicious. Great Service, and a convenient location right on the “strip” .
So if you venture to Branson on your next vacation, or weekend getaway if you live closer. Please check out these places. This used to be my weekend getaway place. And now I call it home. I will try to highlight some of the other local eateries as well in future posts. I haven’t even really scratched the surface here of all the quality places to eat here.
